The Baby Shower Guest List
Baby Shower Planning: The Guest List
Once you've decided on your theme and your location for the baby shower, you'll have a good idea of how many guests you want to invite. Baby showers can be adapted for intimate parties or large gatherings. However, there are several factors that will help to determine the size of your guest list: the number of friends and family in the area, your budget, the amount of time you have to prepare, the size of your location, and whether or not this is the first baby born to the family.
Unless the baby shower is a surprise, remember to consult with the mother-to-be to confirm who should be invited. She'll know who should or should not be invited. If you're planning a surprise baby shower, the couple's family or friends will be happy to give you a list of names, addresses, or phone numbers. Ask for this information well ahead of time.
If you know the mom-to-be through a club or organization, if you work with her, or have a group of mutual friends, you may already have a ready-made guest list, one in which the guests already know each other. Nevertheless, always consult with the mother-to-me before finalizing the guest list.
